For this forum game, imagine that there is a track that splits into two with a lever that picks the path. As the poster, you will present two situations. The responder will have access to the lever, either to leave it alone and have the "trolley" run into the first situation or throw the switch and have the trolley run into the second situation. There is not enough time to create a third option.

You see 5 people about to be sent into a rubber-encasing machine. If you pull the lever, one person in another lane will be sent to the rubber-encasing machine instead.

It's like a game of "would you rather"
Well. If we are talking about completely random people without any additional data, then I will pull the lever and save five people.
You see a crazy robot orderly who was supposed to work in a mental hospital, but his program went wrong and now he indiscriminately locks people in straitjackets. And now he's coming to you!
If you do nothing, the robot orderly will put a straitjacket on you, tie your legs with straps and gag you. But if you pull the lever, he will leave and do the same to a random girl in your city.
Will you pull the lever?

Yes! Pull the lever!

You have a conveyor belt. On one side, you have five pizzas laced with onions. On the other side, you have a lovely pepperoni and sausage pizza. You can either pull the lever to get the one singular delicious pizza, or don't pull the lever to get five pizzas that taste like rat poison.

No, bro and I are okay with onions and don't mind more pizza.

((A small clarifying question. What happens to a person after getting into this rubber-encasing machine?))

((The original problem involves the train running over things. What I assume for the rubber machine is between permanent and solvent is not publicly accessible.))

I think I'll pull the lever anyway. I would not like to get into a rubber-encasing machine, and I hope that another person in a similar situation will also pull the lever and save me. And I can earn my life savings again.
You've been caught by your bitter enemy. He (or she) left you in an empty movie theater tied to a chair and gagged. No one will find and save you, until the end of the movie show. However, you can reach the lever with your bound feet and pull it. If you don't do this, then you'll have to watch the director's cut of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy by Peter Jackson from the beginning to the very end of the end credits. But you pull the lever, they'll show the movie “Madame Web" instead.

I pull the lever because I haven't watched Madame Web. How bad can it be?

A rich heiress offers you $500,000 to save her from being encased in rubber. Pulling the lever, however, is going to encase your best friend/sibling instead.

I'll pull the lever and save the lady in distress. And then my encased brother and I will split the money in half. I'm sure he would have done the same in this situation.
---
Someone else turned the lever and because of that you were packed in rubber. And you don't know the identity of this scoundrel.
After several long hours of rubber captivity, you managed to get to the rubber unpacking machine.
This machine can be used only once and there is a lever next to it.
If you enter the machine without turning the lever, then you will be freed from the rubber.
If you pull the lever, you will remain encased in rubber, but the person, who caused this, will also be encased in rubber.

I'll enter the machine to be free.
You see 5 people walking and wanting to be in a rubber-encasing machine. If you pull the lever, you'll encase 1 person who accidentally got too close to the machine instead.

Obviously, I won't pull the lever. If I do that, I'll ruin six people's mood.
You see how the robber took the purse from a pretty girl and tries to escape. If you pull the lever, the robber will be encased in rubber, but the girl will also be encased in rubber. Will you pull the lever?

Apart from looks, I can't pull the lever because I gain no net benefit from interfering.
You are going to be rubberized for the duration of a work/school day. If you pull the lever, the rubberization will instead occur on a free day.

Pull the lever, of course.
Know what? All this rubber nonsense is getting dull. Let's try something else... You stand in front of a den with lions. You gotta feed the lions, but the cages are separate, so more than likely one of the cages would wind up having lions starve in it. In Cage A, there are five lions, but in Cage B, there is one lion. If you pull the lever, you let the lone lion in Cage B loose. However, if you don't pull the lever, all the lions in Cage A will be released automatically. Will you pull the lever?

I pull the lever. I might be wrong if I base this on some random Youtube puzzle, but if a lion is starving, it might already be dead whereas there is a risk that the five lions may eat one another and I'll have to deal with at least one fed lion.
A machine will tie you up from morning to sundown. If you pull the lever, the machine will instead tie you up from night till morning.

I work the day shift, so I pull the lever.

I pull the lever since that's where it seems to be heading anyway.
Let's say you're in a zombie apocalypse. You are forced to pick between one of two groups in order to survive. If you pull the lever, you will let in the Minecraft players. Limited weaponry, but they will be certain that your rations wouldn't run out (they eat zombies). If you don't pull the lever, you would let in the TLoU community, who might have better weaponry and stuff, but your food resources will be limited. Will you pull the lever?

I'll pull the lever. At least the Minecraft players won't try to beat me with a golf club.
If you don't pull the lever, then you will continue to live in the Matrix. If you pull the lever, you will find out how deep the rabbit hole is. Will you pull the lever?
