Rawurrah can see that the slime leaves some wet streaks as it travels down the tunnels.

Lena nudged rarwurrah, “SEAN TOLD ME THE SLIME HAD SUBDUED ANOTHER PARTY FROM THE CRSYTAL BALL,” she turned a page in her notebook, “WHAT IF ITS THE FIGHTER’s PARTY?”

"That is very much a possibility," Rawurrah replied. "Tell Scruffy to return."

"Yes, it left a trail heading westward," Rawurrah said.

Sean's luck that helped him find a clue didn't extend further than that because it seems that the tunnels weren't just branches but a web; the slime had circled to his position and it went from a "walk" to a "slow run".

Sean eventually met up with the slime…”damn lena its near me!”

“THE SLIME IS NEAR SEANS POSITION.”

Sean was already running away so she didn’t need to remind him, for some reason while running he was trying to strike conversation with it. “So… why do you eat metal?”

"Mystic, I think Scruffy hasn't figured out what backtracking is. At least we have a rough idea on where he'd be. Quick; follow that slime trail!"

Lena immediately high tailed to the slime trail, hoping to find sean,wherever he was.

Rawurrah started running with Lena

The Hyper Slime couldn't talk, but it seemed to perk up at the mention of metal.  Perhaps that moment of distraction was how Sean managed to split away from the slime as it continued down its path.  The other two girls managed to catch up with him.

Faint creaks could be heard further down the tunnel that Sean had ducked into.
