You got the method right, that is true. The resulting green you got was lime as opposed to dark green, however.

You see a combo lock on the door. It's pretty clear you need a combination to get outta here.
As for the magnet... putting the magnet on the padded floor underneath the weight didn't do nothing. You do know how iron works, right? The iron weight swaying when you waved the magnet around should be an indicator of something.

The second number is 30, 35, 40, or 45. Left the first and third numbers unchanged, Alex tries to pick up the second and fourth.

Alex was sure of the first number. And he went through all the options for the second and fourth numbers. So the mistake was in the third number.
Alex tried his memory again. 1850 and 1860 are too early for Dickens ' death. And 1980 are too late. Alex put up the second number 35.
Now Mario Party. He definitely remembered a Mario Party 10 game. Surely there are a few more non-numbered titles.
To begin with, Alex put the third number on 12. And tries to pick up the fourth number.
