“Let's try something else” - Masha tried to attack the Pokemon with several magic charges at the same time. Each of them was much weaker than a single attack, but they covered a large area, like a shotgun blast.

Then, four doors appeared.

A purple door bearing the Poison Type symbol and a yellow star
A royal blue door bearing the Dragon Type symbol and a yellow star
A silvery door with a rainbow star at the top and a green up arrow. This must be an upgrade door.

Then, four podiums popped up. On each podium is a treasure.

Oran Berry: A blue berry 3.5 cm in diameter that is shaped like an orange. Consume this to restore 1 Heart.
Tangled Overgrowth: A set of vines that would wrap around the wearer. The vines themselves are glowing with a faint green aura. If you have 33% or less HP, Grass Type moves will deal 50% more damage.
Kebia Berry: A green pod like berry that is 8.9 cm long. Eat this to take half damage from a Super-effective Poison-type move once.
Charming Bridle: A harness ball gag whose ball is pink and has a heart in the middle. Attacks requiring use of the mouth become unusable, but you get +2 on charisma rolls.

There isn't an option to leave the current run without losing your progress besides completing the run or losing a round. Don't ask me why roguelikes are that railroady.

Masha looked at the treasures thoughtfully and said to Lena:
“I think, instead of a berry, this gag would be more useful to you.”
She blushed:
“Oh, I'm sorry, that sounded bad. I mean, being mute, you'll be immune to his debuff, but you'll get a good bonus.”

I'm pretty sure a mute still wouldn't have been able to use, let's say, a fire breath or an acid spit with the gag on. The ability or sometimes the willingness to speak (the Wikipedia article lists many reasons why people could be mute for more info) has nothing to do with the other functions of the mouth.

“On the other hand, it looks too tempting. If I had the same device for telepathic communication as you do, then I would take a gag,” Masha continued to reason out loud.

((By the way, does the gag in the mouth block the possibility of using berries? After all, it is implied that they need to be eaten. But since girls can't use their hands anyway, it might just be a game convention))

“Okay. I have not spent my medicinal berry yet, strengthening Grass abilities is not too useful for me, the green berry is too situational. So I'm going to take Charming Bridle anyway. And yes, it's your turn to choose the door, so let's try the psychic one.”
Masha walked up to the podium with a Charming Bridle and chose this item. Although she still had no idea how she would be able to equip it without the help of her hands.

Masha... Sure enough, the gag magically equipped itself around your head. The pink ball is lodged into your mouth, and the straps of the harness wrapped themselves around your head, making you look like the start of a cute ponygirl.

A ballgag filled Masha's mouth. The sensations were not very pleasant, but they could not be said to be completely unusual. For unknown reasons, Masha found herself tied up and gagged much more often than the average layman.
- “MMmfff!! Fffmmmmfff!!!” - chubby girl tried to say something, and made sure that the gag reliably muffled any of her words. Well, that was expected. Just in case, she tried to try another way of communicating:
- “Lena! Lena! One-two-three. Do you hear me?” She thought "loudly", addressing her thoughts to Lena. If a mute girl could communicate, then maybe gagged girl could do it.
