Elemental Gauntlet: A Pokemon Roguelike
#9
Hilda saw Lena speak with the voice Lena perceived in Lena's imagination. That's the workings of Slowking's anatomically-applied telepathy, which was achieved thanks to the magic of the Typesuits (as otherwise, I don't think Lena would've been able to speak). Getting the first question, Hilda explained... "Of course there is! So here's the deal.

Typesuits are elemental restraints made out of a special canvas fabric that is made out of an interweave of cotton and the silk of Tarountula, whose silk is the toughest known fiber in the Pokemon world. A Scyther can cut through a tree that's one meter thick, yet its attacks bounce off Tarountula's silken ball without leaving a dent in it. There are 19 different Typesuits, ranging from the plain Normal Type to the long-lost ??? Type. Each Typesuit comes with its own unique set of abilities based on the type they represent.

There are two different types of Typesuit. The first Type is the standard Typesuit, which is like a snug sleepsack that seals your entire body. This Typesuit was first created by Katchepsut (note that Katchepsut is the name of a modern-day gym leader in this context), who modeled the Typesuit after magical burial shrouds wrapped over mummies from thousands of years ago. This Typesuit limits your mobility just like a sleepsack would, BUT you will get more range out of your attacks.

The other kind of Typesuit is the Padded Typesuit. These guys are a more recent development, created just shortly after the creation of the Typesuit. They come with a thick set of diapers wrapped around your hips. These diapers act as a sort of cushion against blows. They provide better mobility; however, they provide less attack range. It's definitely an upside from what would otherwise be an embarrassing garment.

Is there anything else you'd like to ask?"
