Magic School of Thot

Sabrina took in what both Lilith and Dawn said (Sabrina wincing at Dawn's mention of the padlock.) Then really thought about why she wanted the title herself.

"Yeah it's just a title but it's more then that too. It's an example of someone's hard work and dedication to their magic." Sabrina said with a smile. "Also, I apologize but I'm not much of a lasagna person... Or a vegan person."

A couple of students were going to hex Dawn for her disrespect of the system!

===

Diece finished sipping his tea with both hands on cup as the tendrils gripped some of the Nagas, setting down the tea as manner dictates.  "Now, now. The little miss has a point.  There has been history of dark mages aiding students in the trials, not to mention a few that enter the trials themselves.  Although they rarely survive the displeasure of the existing Divine Visionaries, it would be a good idea to do away with the system, is what she thinks."

Some of the Capricorns were tangled in chains as Trig finished slurping up his noodles, setting the bowl down to savor the flavor before speaking up.  "That thought is foolish for two reasons.  The first is that simply refusing to participate does not dissuade the other two schools from sending their candidates.  The second is that the current Divine Visionaries are proof that the system works, so while you say it has flaws, people will overlook those flaws."

Angelica patted Aleya on the back (to dislodge some food) before turning her attention to some of the Leos cuffed to the table.  "Do you even know why the title of Divine Visionary is coveted?  In the early age of history, countries had hundreds of mages ready for war.  There were some powerful archmages that were as powerful as ten mages.  But the first Divine Visionary...wipe out such wars and brought peace.  That's why the schools produce a Divine Visionary each year, to dissuade other mages from fighting for power, and don't say that peace is an option when you already thought the teachers would attack you."

"Hahaha.  Such a lively batch we have this year." Headmaster Thottius the Third chuckled at the display.  The three students quickly released their spells and the unruly students sat back down quickly.  "All sides do have a good point about the Divine Visionaries.  In fact, it's in their name, the ones who have an idea what the future of our world should be; I'd imagine that becoming a Divine Visionary this year is the best way to deny such a title, Miss Lovegood, though you would want to hold that title so you can debate with the other Divine Visionaries on that subject.  Although...I'll have to speak to the teachers the difference between making their lessons simple and restricting the answers to simple ones."

Thottius took a bite of his veggie lasagna.  "Hmmm.  In future Herbology classes, you'd also be learning about things like soil and weather to get better results for your ingredients such as these vegetables."

((In just a few paragraphs, Dawn turned a school of magic into what happens in a GrayStillPlays video.))

"Of course, Headmaster. After all, agriculture is what feeds us." Dawn replied. "But indeed. I can see where you all are coming from. For starters, there is a light and dark to everything, wizards included. Allow me to demonstrate." Dawn put her hands close to each other "Levios Yinyang." Dawn formed a Yinyang orb in her hands, which swirled its pattern around. "What you see here is the symbol of balance: the Yin and Yang. The yin and the yang are two opposing sides, always intertwined with one another. Should one side try and push against the other..." Dawn smacked the Yin side into the Yang side, causing it to shortly take over before the Yang came back into the orb. "The other side is inevitably going to want to restore balance."

Dawn turned to Deice. "I'm not saying the system should be removed, nor do I believe it should be held as a gospel. I'm saying there should be more awareness of the flaws within."

Dawn turned to Trig. "And, while nothing is stopping the other schools, or even other students here, from going for the title... It is shortsighted to assume all people will straight up overlook the flaws of the system, or any system for that matter. There is a pro and a con to everything, and the wiser people, wizard or not, will learn to weigh in the pros and the cons of the system rather than simply overlook one or the other. Inevitably, the wiser of people will find way to balance these things out one way or the other."

Dawn turned to Angelica. "As for you, Angelica, there's no saying that peace is or isn't an option here. In fact, to put it simply, peace is more of a state of balance. Without balance, there's no doubt it wouldn't be around for long. To put it lightly, I know not what a 2nd Great Mage War will be fought with, but a 3rd Great Mage War will certainly be fought with nothing but sticks and stones."

Dawn then glared at the unruly students. "As for the rest of you, if you wish to gain the title of Divine Visionary, the chaos that unfolded is certainly not the way to do it. There are more pressing matters in the wizarding world than a slight difference in opinion. I humbly request you all take a good breather and find a state of balance within your minds if you wish for this not to happen again."

Dawn dispelled the orb and stood up. "And headmaster, in the name of the great owl, I hope you have a wonderful day." Dawn walked off, opting to find the third class of her house.

Sabrina was kinda shocked by most people's reactions. Sure she was in the same mindset as them that Dawn's argument was somewhat flawed but the fact that a majority of the school seemed ready to curse her into oblivion (especially in her own house!) Was frustrating.

She was about to give people a piece of her mind when the Headmaster spoke. As she listened to his words she knew more then ever she wanted to be a Visionary, she wanted to help make a future where honor and people's actions are more valued just as much if not more then the family one comes from.

So the next time a situation like this occurred, there wouldn't be so many getting their wands ready to use against someone.

"You should feel ashamed of yourselves." Sabrina stated to a few people near her who had just sat back down.

Trig put away his trash as Will walked up with him.  "Man, that girl likes to hear herself talk, am I right?  Didn't even notice you showed up her casting claims."

Trig turned to Venta.  "Boss, what do you think of her points?"

"Seriously?"

The small girl looked at the retreating blonde.  "...I can't agree with someone who insults papa."

===

After that spectacle at lunch, the Capricorns would head over to Trasmutation then Herbology while the Nagas will go to Conjuration then Creature Care.  Nothing particularly stood out from their classes, and though the golden Bun Bun was in a certain class, it doesn't seem like anyone was able to get a Silver Wedge from it.

After the fourth class, the students went to their rooms to take off their robes.  At least, that was the general plan, but...

===

"Capricorn House, you've brought shame upon yourselves.  Attacking one of your own for her opinion...are you so quick to turn on your own?"  Venta had gathered the students that had attacked.  "And yet, what upsets me more is that you were going to throw elementary spells.  If you all wanted to be Divine Visionaries, you can forget that idea!  I overheard what Dawn thought she would have been punished with, so all of you that stood up, you'll spend the night in a sleepsack and muzzle!"

One of those students tried to defend themselves.  "But you must have also heard her brag about being so advanced with her magic..."

"Fine, I suppose you can skip the punishment...if you can defeat one of my bodyguards before curfew."  Said student failed to take Venta's offer since the spells he threw at her were swatted aside by Trig who threw a punch at him, then summoned various weapons to block off other spells.  "For most of you, school is just a school.  We learn skills and how to get along with each other..."

---

"...So did you really think there are classes on how to become a Divine Visionary?"  Deice mockingly asks as several Nagas were under various ill effects from his rays of magic.  "No, long before you came to school, we have already written most of you off, and with good reason.  Students like that girl are worthy candidates because they dare not to survive with any lesser ideal.  If you thought you had a chance, you do not; you did not learn to fight with advantage when your magic is equal, and you fail to realize your magic is not equal..."

---

"...Because part of the Divine Visionary's toolset are their personal magics."  Trig finished for Venta.  "Had we not stopped you, that girl would have simply left unmolested anyway.  However, the teachers would not be teaching us one-on-one how to train our own magics.  After classes, two of us will take turns hosting duels in a classroom appointed by the headmaster.  You will figure out how to use your magics to their fullest potential..."

---

"...Because otherwise you will fail this school."  Belle Dino added for Deice.  "The first Silver Wedge was earned, or Wedges, courtesy of a golden rabbit."  Each of the Five Senses held up a Silver Wedge.  "And no doubt the Divas and Ten Asia are showing theirs as well.  As you are, you put your grades at risk for a reward above your skill level.  At the very least, we as your seniors will ensure that you will not embarrass us."

Deice clapped his hands.  "Now then, enjoy your time off tonight.  The Dueling Clubs start tomorrow!"

Dawn overheard Venta and Trig chastising the House of Capricorn from the back. She would've checked the Leos and the Nagas, but she hadn't known the Leos well enough to even bother, plus Dawn felt Deice would've seen her even with his back turned against her if she bothered to eavesdrop on the Nagas. Assuming the way the houses chastised their respective hooligans the same way minus maybe the tone and the way Trigger handled one of the hooligans, she felt it was interesting how the Ten Asias had some level of respect (however small) for Dawn, though that was likely because Dawn saw the importance in balance.

Dawn hadn't seen the Ten Asias hold up any silver wedges, so she figured whether they had them or not, they, like Dawn, had the wisdom to not show them off. And certainly unlike the greedos that tried to get Golden Bun Bun fur or the overtly proud fools who went out of their way to attack her over their own shortsighted beliefs, Dawn made use of quick thinking and her knowledge on nature (in that case, it would be predator/prey relationships since the Bun Bun would've assumed the others were out to eat it) to achieve the silver wedge with assistance from Sabrina. Even so, Dawn felt (and had expressed) the wedges were just a sticker system but with extra steps.

"Humans are such fickle creatures..." Dawn said to herself. Soon, Dawn went off. Once out of the area, Dawn used a sigil to warp back to the rooftop of the building where she wouldn't have to worry about any of the people of the house bugging her. Why? Upon reappearing at the roof, Dawn sat down and meditated, her aura glowing white while she had.

Hannah gulped rather audibly, her facing looking like it couldn't make up its mind whether it wanted to pale or blush as she hid behind D in order to avoid Deice's magic rays'."y-you weren't kidding th-this really is c-competitive" hannah whispered, sputtering over her words, while she seemingly became transparent, her nerves causing her magic to freak out a bit, if one where to enter their room they would see another semi transparent hannah, though this one being much harder to see and completely intangable.

"Yes, from the time I've known Deice, he was more of a background character."  D noted.  "It seems that the event they have gone through did more than remove..."

D shrugged.  "Anyway, that had not been the original plan, but it seems that the projected increase in coins would mean that we should not see any 'pre-tournament' incidents."

"On that note, the suggestion of comparing our Personal Magics is valid in the event a 'pre-tournament' incident does occur."

---

"Dawn..." Lilith exited through the rooftop access holding a bundled tent.  "I don't know why you don't want to sleep in the dorm, but as your dormmate, I want to at least make sure that you have a roof over your head."

"I ain't your dormmate," Dawn replied. "Or anyone's for that matter, for I had opted not to pick a dorm. This is a place I personally set up as a means to engage in my meditation once I left the sorting chamber upon learning of the house I got. A place where I felt no intruders would interrupt my training... Until now, it seems."

"Sorry..." Lilith laid the stuff on the roof, setting up the tent as best as she can.

Dawn sighed. "I'll never understand the desires of humanity." Dawn walked further down the roof out of Lilith's sight. Once the coast was clear, she went back to meditating, her white aura glowing once more. After some time, Dawn was surrounded by some small rocks floating around her. It seems this is how she intends to train her magic.

It's pitiful how a lot of the people in this school turn into greedy punks over a title, Dawn thought. Unlike everyone else, I merely came here to improve my own magic. Even the Logons and their druids have their limitations. Nearly half the entire school went ballistic over my personal views towards the idea of being a Divine Visionary. Entities like the so-called Divine Visionaries will fall victim to their desires eventually. I'm no saint in that regard either. While I may have came off as somewhat egotistical when expressing my views toward the title, and while I do hold my skill in some regard, even I have my limitations. For example, I can't exactly say Trig is right about me being capable of leaving unmolested without him and the other seniors stopping their assaults with those numbers; that is a situation I would've had to fight back against if I wanted such an outcome. And there was no way I would've gotten that golden bun bun fur without some sort of strategy after my misstep with the paper. If a Divine Visionary were to come right for me at this moment, it would be in my best interest to only use my magic in self-defense if they decide to attack unless I want a very unfortunate outcome to happen to me. It'll be hard to break them from their desires either way.

The tent has been set up, shoddily but still doable, anchored to the roof. Lilith had already left the roof, leaving nothing else but wet spots next to the tent.

"pre-tournament in-incidents?" Hannah asked with a tilt of her head, gulping slightly as her mind ran a little wild with idea's, until she noticed her form, quickly glancing around in embarrassment to make sure no ones noticed, she took a deep breath to settle her nerves and let her magic calm and becoming fully solid, and tangible once again.

"s-sure I would l-love to help you ... and vice versa" she hummed, nodding in agreement with a thankful smile. "... wait this was all planned?"

Sabrina had actually wanted to try her hand against Trig, the girl walking up the two of them. "Would it be possible for me to try? I didn't act like our peers did but I would appreciate the chance to test my mettle against one of our top students."

"Well, er..."

Barrel spoke up for "Sure.  We do need to test the arena."

"Oh, right."  The group sans the other students went to the end of the hallway where Venta took out a key she got from the headmaster and opened the door.  Inside was a raised platform with a few bleachers.  Trig and Sabrina stood on the platform while Venta, Mae and Barrel sat on the sides.

"In most fights, mages tend to use their Personal Magic more than other kinds of magic.  Despite the name, Personal magic is not so limited as a Divine Visionary can train their magic to possess three tiers of increasing power. "  Trig lectured as he summoned a polearm into his hand.  "My Personal Magic is Forge.  Should you demonstrate an understanding of your own Personal Magic, I will demonstrate the next tier in return.

---

"Now, now.  My family is full of schemers, so everything I do is a plan."  Deice joked as he stood by the dorm door.  "Though perhaps it's easier to say that letting Miss Lovegood get attacked would be more in-tune with what my family deems as the first of many plan.  For my next plan..."

D and Hannah would be escorted to their arena, with Deice sitting on the side.  "Don't worry, I'll be certain neither side goes to far like a referee."

D nodded.  "Very well.  Our task is to push our Personal Magic to the limits.  According to my research on Divine Visionaries, their personal magic is arranged in three tiers of increasing power.  Shall we begin?"

Soon enough, Dawn had the rocks she brought into the air staying still. "It's ready." Dawn stood up. Soon, she began her personal training. "Haa!" Dawn started off by compressing her aura into her hand. Soon after, Dawn started firing her aura at a few rocks as ki blasts. "Hm, seems that Lilith chick is right. My ideal of it being three personal magics is really just my own aura that I expanded on. The rest of the magic I've used with the Logons were common non-elemental or Earth spells. Guess those spells were their ideas of personal magic not knowing how common elemental spells are." Dawn put her right hand in a fist. "I wonder why she picked Water as a personal magic, however. 71% of this world is made of water. I would've imagined she'd make use of something less common and counterable than Water." Dawn looked back at the rocks. "No matter. I'll just continue with my training." Dawn leapt at a rock, then broke it with a flurry of punches before landing. Soon after, she was back to firing ki blasts.

"already got another one? do I even wanna know?" Hannah mumbled nervously as she eyed him wearily, making sure to put D between him and herself before she gesture for the two to lead the way, seeing as them seem to have this all thought out.

"so h-how are we doing this? s-standard rules? or ......?" she hummed curiously as she stretched, running over the spells she knew in her head as she curiously looked between the two. "oh? and what are the teirs?"

"Until either of you calls it." Deice replied.

"Most of your Personal Magic will be in the first tier." D explained as she conjured a wooden ball that she banished past Hannah, only to bounce and hit her in the back, though she got some pain in the knee instead. "The ability to map out my attacks and to map out how my attacks would affect the target are two of my abilities."

Deice took over the explanation. "Next is the Secondth tier. This would be considered your trump card spell, and most mages would conjure a powerful item or an avatar to aid in this effect."

D nodded. "The last tier is Thirds. This tier is rare even among the Divine Visionaries because it would be considered the epitome of your magic. From the records we know of so far, Thirds will take the form of a god. Anyway, shall we begin for real?"

---

Trig did not waste time throwing the spear at Sabrina, forging a sword as he rushed at her.

While he was suspicious of the doll, it seems to cement the idea that Sabrina is not much of a close-range fighter.

"Stupid Lilith...who wants to be friends with you?" Lilith said as tears stained her pillow in her lonely room, the presents she crafted with love torn apart by her hands. "You only hurt the ones you love..."
